1020A TOC Analyzer
The Model 1020A TOC Analyzers an auto mated system for the direct analysis of aqueous samples for total carbon [TC], total inorganic carbon [NPOC], total organic carbon [TOC], nonporous able organic carbon [MPOC], and permeable organic carbon [POC] . The sample loop introduction system allows repeatable analysis over a wide range of concentrations. Unlike other TOC analyzers, the Model 1020A uses a single calibration curve to accurately measure TOC concentrations over a very wide range. The Model 1020A Proven Combustion Technology is specially designed for the analysis of samples contouring up to 10,000ppm C. Combustion temperatures are adjustable from 200℃~800℃ for analysis at 800℃ in a quartz reaction chamber without requiring catalyst or optional combustion at °C. In the presence or rugged platinum catalyst for samples with higher saline content. The high oxidation efficiency, coupled with the Selectivity of the condispersive, infrared [NOIR] detector, makes the Model 1020A the combustion analyzer of choice for high concentration TOC analysis. Principle of operation: When carbon compounds are combusted in an oxygen-rich environment the complete conversion of carbon to carbon dioxide [CO2] results. TC is determined when the NDIR detector detects the resulting CO2. TIC is determined by measuring the CO2 released following sample acid flotation. As the sample puff is lowered, carbonate and bicarbonate ions are converted to dissolved CO2, which is purged from solution and swept into an NOIR. The NOIR is calibrated to display the mass of CO2 detected. TOC is determined by performing separate TC and TIC analysis and subtracting the results. NPOC is determined by preacidlfying and prep urging the sample to remove the TIC and POC. Once a TC analysis is performed on the sample, this yields NPOC POCos determined by concentrating and trapping purge able organics, then deserting the pure able organics to the -combusting furnace. The furnace converts the organics to CO2 which is detected by the NOIR.
